INCOMPAS Statement on New Permitting Success Report
WASHINGTON, D.C. – September 4, 2024 – INCOMPAS members are at the forefront of deploying competitive broadband infrastructure throughout the U.S. We are at a critical time as BEAD funding becomes available in the coming months. Moreover, INCOMPAS members continue to invest their own capital in delivering alternative, high-speed competitive infrastructure. Angie Kronenberg, President of INCOMPAS, participated in a national summit on local permitting processes that resulted in this report from Benton Institute for Broadband & Society that sets forth a road map for a collaborative approach between the builders and the communities they are deploying in that will help deliver fast and affordable broadband connectivity quickly. The following statement can be attributed to her:
"By developing effective and efficient permitting processes, and working in a collaborative fashion, broadband infrastructure companies and local governments can help ensure that every community in America receives the full benefits of modern broadband connectivity quickly. I was honored to participate in this effort, and I highly recommend that broadband companies and communities use this report as a guide to help achieve their goals of connecting every American to broadband service as quickly and affordably as possible."
