INCOMPAS Applauds FCC Chairwoman's New Effort to Bring Competition to MTEs
WASHINGTON, D.C. – March 5, 2024 – INCOMPAS President Angie Kronenberg released the following statement responding to FCC Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel's announcement she is circulating a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking that would ban bulk billing arrangements and bring additional competition for broadband services to multiple tenant environments ("MTEs").
"Consumers who live in apartment buildings should be able to choose their communications provider and opt out of a bulk contract signed by their landlord. No one should have to pay for the same service twice.
"We commend FCC Chairwoman Rosenworcel’s leadership in bringing more competitive options to multi-tenant housing, driving more affordability and options for one third of Americans who live in these buildings."
