INCOMPAS Statement on White House's National Spectrum Strategy

WASHINGTON, DC – November 13, 2023 – INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering released the following statement in response to the White House's announcement regarding the National Telecommunications and Information Administration's (NTIA) National Spectrum Strategy:

"The White House's National Spectrum Strategy couldn't have come at a better time. While resources are being deployed to build out networks across our nation, strategically using our spectrum resources is vital to reach our goal of universal connectivity. This plan underscores the importance of public-private innovation to effectively harness the capabilities of our spectrum resources, so we can remain the global leader in wireless communications.

"We wholeheartedly support the tremendous work that the NTIA and the White House have done on this critical issue, but also believe another critical piece of this puzzle is the lower 12 GHz proceeding at the FCC. To build off of this strategy, we strongly encourage the FCC to issue an order expanding the 12 GHz band for high-powered, two-way fixed wireless access. This will unleash the potential of this band to help us achieve our connectivity goals.

"We applaud the NTIA's leadership on this critical issue and look forward to working with them to implement this plan and bring new spectrum to market in order to meet our connectivity needs."
