INCOMPAS Policy Summit to Bring Together Congressional and Industry Leaders for Roundtable on Universal Broadband

Sen. Moran, Rep. Clyburn Join Top Executives of Crown Castle and Granite to Examine Roles of Public and Private Sector in Driving Deployment

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 4, 2021) – INCOMPAS, the internet and competitive networks association, today announced that it will host a roundtable featuring Congressional leaders and top industry executives to discuss how to connect all Americans to faster, more affordable broadband during The 2021 INCOMPAS Policy Summit, a virtual event taking place February 8-10.

The roundtable – Internet for All: The Role of the Public and Private Sector in Delivering Universal Broadband – is scheduled for 12:30 p.m. EST on Wednesday, February 10, and will feature a discussion about the roles the public and private sectors will play in meeting faster gigabit speed goals and deploying more fiber and 5G with lawmakers and industry executives: 

  • Rep. James E. Clyburn (D-S.C.), House Majority Whip and Chairman of the House Rural Broadband Task Force
  • Sen. Jerry Moran (R-Kansas), Chairman of the Appropriations Subcommittee on Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies, and Member of the Commerce, Science and Transportation Committee
  • Jay A. Brown, President and CEO, Crown Castle
  • Rob Hale, President, Granite Telecommunications, LLC, 
“Broadband is essential to our nation’s recovery and the backbone for our future,” said INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering. “We look forward to a thoughtful discussion between these industry and legal experts about how our nation can promote greater equity, opportunity and economic growth by expanding broadband access to all Americans.”
 
The Internet for All roundtable is one part of a robust Policy Summit agenda, as INCOMPAS celebrates the accomplishments of the 1996 Telecommunications Act on its 25th anniversary, and takes a look into the future of competition policy. The event also will feature keynotes from:
