INCOMPAS Praises Pai Request for Congressional Broadband Funding

WASHINGTON, D.C. (June 19, 2020) – Today FCC Chairman Ajit Pai urged Congress to support funding for broadband recovery following COVID-19 disruptions and the industry’s support of the Keep Americans Connected Pledge.

INCOMPAS , whose small competitive broadband providers were amongst the first to step up and support the FCC pledge, have been advocating for connectivity funding in Congress to support small businesses, schools and hospitals harmed by the coronavirus.

In response Chip Pickering, CEO of INCOMPAS released the following statement:

“We wish to thank and praise Chairman Ajit Pai for his leadership during COVID-19 and his support for connectivity funding in Congress which will help small businesses and make deployment of faster speeds, more affordable networks central to our nation’s recovery efforts.

“INCOMPAS member companies stepped up to help their customers, communities, friends and neighbors stay connected to essential internet and communications services during COVID-19, in many cases at significant financial loss and duress. But their commitment to stay strong and stay connected has helped thousands of small business, schools, hospitals, homes and families when they need it most.

“We would also like to thank bipartisan Congressional leaders, including Senators Wicker and Markey, and Representatives Walden and Doyle for their support for small providers who stepped up to meet the challenge.”
