INCOMPAS: America Needs Better Broadband, Congress Can Help
WASHINGTON, D.C. (April 29, 2020) – INCOMPAS, the internet and competitive networks association, has joined with over 200 consumer and public interest organizations, small internet providers and tech companies in a letter to Congress urging more broadband access and investment in stimulus and recovery efforts.
In addition to signing the letter, INCOMPAS CEO Chip Pickering released the following statement:
“Broadband connectivity is absolutely essential right now. It means more jobs, education, and healthcare delivered at home. Small, local builders deploy networks that transform communities with faster speeds and lower prices. Broadband investment has a network effect that lifts all boats - helping small businesses, health care providers and schools. America needs broadband connectivity now more than ever, and we urge Congress to support efforts that will sustain the networks, encourage more local network deployment to meet community needs, and provide jobs and opportunities.”
