INCOMPAS Statement on Congressional Net Neutrality Action

Competition focused trade group says: “Bipartisan net neutrality solutions must address interconnection or streaming and cloud will suffer”

WASHINGTON, D.C. (February 7, 2019) – Today the House Energy and Commerce, Subcommittee on Communications and Technology held its first hearing of this Congress, focusing on net neutrality.

In response, Chip Pickering, CEO of INCOMPAS, released the following statement:

“We commend Chairman Mike Doyle and Ranking Member Bob Latta for opening the subcommittee’s work by focusing on the number one issue facing main street businesses – net neutrality.

“INCOMPAS is leading the fight in the courts to save strong net neutrality, and we look forward to working with all Members of Congress on bipartisan solutions to protect a free and open internet. But we will only support real solutions, that protect and preserve strong provisions, like those from the 2015 order that strengthened all four corners on net neutrality – no blocking, no throttling, no paid prioritization and strong interconnection that empowers the streaming and cloud revolution.

“We look forward to working with Chairman Doyle, Ranking Member Latta and all members of the subcommittee to find real bipartisan solutions that bring more competition and opportunity for all Americans.”
