Q: What does your company do and how long has it been in operation? 
A: Founded in 2000 as QuorTech Solutions, a spin-off of the Millennium division of Nortel Networks, serving the public communications industry. WiMacTel was launched in 2010, as we evolved into a full telecommunications service provider with a focus on operator services, directory assistance, long distance and inmate/public payphone services. Our customer base includes LECs/CLECs in the United States and Canada, airports, universities, hospitals, hotels, correctional facilities, payphone providers and other small/medium businesses. We are a certified IXC/OSP, wireless and VoIP reseller and payphone service provider nationwide in the U.S. and Canada. We have nationwide LEC/CLEC billing agreements and are a PCI DSS-compliant credit card merchant.

Q: To what do you attribute your company’s success in the communications industry? 
We began in 2000 with channel strength in the Canadian and U.S. LECs, with a strong technology capability. We evolved this foundation, broadening our channel reach while developing a state-of-the-art switching/network platform and carrier partnerships. We have grown our business significantly over the past two years, differentiated by our ability to provide rapid customized solutions tailored to our customers’ specific needs. We are ideally positioned to provide a cost-effective operator services and directory assistance solution for LECs/CLECs as AT&T withdraws from the market.  

Q: What have been the biggest obstacles your company has faced in the marketplace? 
A: Our most significant obstacle has been managing the dramatic business growth immediately following the launch of our operator services and directory assistance platform. We are proud of our ability to deliver best-in-class customer service during a very successful start-up phase. 

Q: What do you see as your greatest challenges going forward? 
A: Our greatest challenge will be continuing the pace of core business growth while investing in and launching new services to our growing customer base.

Q: What have been some of your company’s most recent achievements (new customer wins, new service/product deployment, etc.)? 
A: We continue to expand our traditional customer base with recent wins that include the DFW Airport, Ohio State University, a large CLEC operator services outsource and a wholesale operator services outsource that substantially increases our current volumes.
