Q: Describe your organization
A: Positron Access Solutions manufactures telecommunications equipment, including fiber optic transmission equipment for synchronous optical network (SONET/SDH) and packet-based carrier networks and carrier-class bonded copper solutions. With offices in Irvine, Calif., and Montreal, Quebec, Positron's global footprint extends from the United States and Canada through Europe, Latin America, Australia, Asia and the South Pacific.
Positron develops and manufactures a broad portfolio of fiber and copper transmission equipment for applications including metro Ethernet networks, core transport networks, access and edge aggregation, wireless and triple-play backhaul, and thin-route access transport. The Positron portfolio includes the OSIRIS and OSIRIS Compact multi-service platforms (MSP), integrated access solutions for the rapidly expanding SONET/SDH broadband markets. OSIRIS delivers a simple-to-deploy solution for multi-service traffic such as data, voice and video, with the full robustness and availability of SONET-based fiber optic rings for the most demanding carrier applications. With more than 25,000 nodes deployed worldwide, OSIRIS has a demonstrated track record of reliability and ease-of-use throughout the world.
Positron’s Converged Access Device portfolio includes the pseudowire based AEX-50/100, and Ethernet over PDH based AEX-55/110 terminals and aggregators for the edge of access and metro networks. The portfolio provides end users and carriers flexible choices for backhaul of today’s mix of voice and data services for wireless, business services and triple-play offerings.
The Aktino product line provides carrier-class bonded copper solutions that enable carriers to deploy Ethernet and DS3 services faster while obtaining fiber-like bandwidth on a copper budget. It extends reliable, high bandwidth over a carrier service area, providing a cost effective and extended Ethernet service footprint for the carriers. Aktino products deliver five to 100 Mbps carrier Ethernet and DS3 TDM solutions, making them ideal for applications by providing Ethernet services for Business, DSLAM backhaul and cell backhaul applications.
